After consulting with dozens of clients over the past couple of years, their primary focus all seems to have a similar element: FAT LOSS. Especially after the holidays! Whether you’re looking to lose some of that stubborn body fat that you’ve accumulated over the holiday season, or just want to look and feel healthier, the process is simple:
Step 1: Find your focus.
The absolutely most important thing to do in order to be successful at anything is to have a specific idea of what you want. This is where goal setting comes into play, but also ensure that the goals you are setting align with your overall vision for what you want your life to look and feel like.
Step 2: Follow a plan that suits your needs.
This is where it starts to get a bit more complicated because there may be multiple ways – some of them unhealthy- to achieve your vision and goals. I believe that we are all very unique physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually (a concept I refer to as bio-individuality). This means that we all differ in terms of what we eat, how many calories we need, what types of calories we need, what brings us joy, what stresses us out and other elements of our lifestyles. Therefore a general diet plan written for a large group of people may yield somewhat similar results to what you’re aiming for but it won’t give you EXACTLY what you want. These general diet plans are often restrictive, boring, and impossible to maintain in the long-run. The best way to get exactly what you want is to have something that exactly fits who you are and will get you to exactly where you want to be.
Step 3: Get results.
This step is by far the most fun because this is where you start to see your goals being accomplished and your vision taking place. This step can also be the most frustrating because we don’t always see the results as quickly as we’d like to. But just because we aren’t seeing results immediately doesn’t mean that we aren’t going to be successful. If we have successfully implemented Steps 1 and 2, then all we need to do is trust the process and Step 3 will happen on it’s own.
Seriously, it’s that simple. But just because something is simple doesn’t mean that it can easily be done. In fact, sometimes it’s incredibly difficult to simplify what we want into one single vision. And even if you are able to easily narrow down your focus, all the conflicting information that Google makes it almost impossible to identify a plan that 1.) suits your needs AND 2.) will give you the results you want in Step 3.
